Twilight sucks, *stareeeeee* ~~~
KAREN. you updated. yayyyyyyy
update more man D: GOODLUCK FOR EXAMS.
Today, I would like to talk about Teenagers and their fandoms. Have you ever thought why a majority of books out there, no matter how stupid and illogical they are, make it to best seller’s list? Becuase these books are aimed Teenagers. And Teenagers more or less are the easiest targets for crappy but ethereally consuming books i.e Twilight.
Twilight unfortunately is one such example of horrible literature that shouldn’t even be classified as a book, however it is a world best seller and is one of the most circulated books around these days. If its so horribly written, why does it sell? becuase teenagers, what with our hormones and whatnot, are easily swayed into reading such things that meet our fancy as we are the hardest to satisfy but the easiest group to convince to buy a book with bishies and vampires and hot boys (again, its hormones talking) and
at this point im too lazy to complete the rest of the post for it to become a full fledged blog post article. The first half of the post came from when I was listening to a podcast about the possiblity of there being a Twilight manga and how one person quoted this move as “literally printing money” (ani-gamers podcast). This is a sign of how stupid the entertainment industry perceive teenagers where such fandoms as Twilight is involved. But sadly it is true, making a Twilight Manga is LITERALLY printing our money, because the fanbase is so stupidly wide and the merchandise (no matter how stupid or how illogical) so much, that the merely labelling anything as ‘Twilight’ merchandise sells. my god this is consumerism at its worst. Another quote from Brigid of mangablog.com about her teenagers and Twilight. Her daughter likes the books but she admits to her mother ” Mum, these books are really badly written”, yet she still reads it and is engrossed in it. “It evokes an emotional response, which from teenagers is sometimes too easy and sometimes too hard.” Teenagers are so easily satsified emotionally, that it partially blinds their intelligence unless they are immune to such emotional responses Twilight evokes with most teenage edward addicted girls.
In this day and age with the World Economic Crisis and all, you have to wonder will consumerism actually save us? (away from the twlight thing as i might complain about it for a billion more paragraphs, henceforth lets talk about the WEC) As Ida once explained to me, once a recession starts it continues to be a downward spiral into psychotic depths of darkness, until people realise that spending money is the only way to rebound from the looming recession and in the worst case scenario, the depression. When a recession is annouced, you immediately see less people shopping, less people spending and more people saving. The more you save, the less input there is into the economy which is supported by buying products imported into Australia and of which is normally supported by mass consumerism of products otherwise known as luxuries. And at this point my post is going nowhere, it doesnt really make much sense to me, since im kinda feeling like chicken at the moment, maybe KFC. Maybe I should call my sister to see where she is TT”
